Here For You
I’m Lauren (she/her), a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a mom to two boys. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelors in Child & Youth Care.
Before I became a mom, I worked as a youth outreach worker supporting at risk youth. I then went on to work with high school aged youth in the North Vancouver School District, where I spent time as a youth engagement worker supporting students struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships and navigating their journey into adulthood.
I support clients in-person in North Vancouver, BC and virtually throughout British Columbia, and I am grateful to live, work and play on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
Counselling
I am a caring and approachable counsellor who is passionate about supporting clients throughout their mental health journey. As a mom to two boys ages 3 and 5, I have had my own experience with anxieties, intrusive thoughts, and feelings of being overwhelmed throughout my journey through Matrescence. I know firsthand how challenging it can be as a mom; with constant expectations, feelings of guilt and being pulled in multiple directions.
I strive to create a space of acceptance and empowerment. My hope is to validate my clients, celebrate their victories and provide concrete strategies to help during life’s difficult moments.
I also have extensive work in the high school system as a youth worker and behaviour support worker. I enjoy connecting with and supporting youth through their journey into adulthood.
I support clients through a person-centered, holistic, mindfulness-based and trauma-informed lens.
